The Pinch focuses on ergonomics for professional chefs. The way chefs hold their knife is by pinching the back of the blade just above the handle. This provides optimum control at the balance point of the knife. Most knives are not designed for this type of grip however. And most "ergonomic" knife handles are very unappealing. This design creates an easier grip at the back of the blade and a more neutral wrist position by widening the handle toward the back end. I prototyped this handle by several methods, including 3D printing, CNC milling, resin casting, and foam and clay sculpting, tweaking the size and shape along the way.
